My journey in social work began with a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to advocacy. I pursued my graduate studies in Social Work and then additional training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including insomnia. Together we will collaborate on a tailored treatment plan that includes re-evaluating thought patterns, developing healthy coping strategies for sleep, and cultivating a sense of self-efficacy in managing insomnia and related concerns.
I focus my work at the intersection of sleep and mental health. If sleep isn’t restful, usually our mood, thinking, and day-to-day activities are affected. Dr. Stephens is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and senior graduate professor of nursing. She is passionate about treating insomnia and other sleep disorders using the least harmful, most effective treatments. Dr. Stephens is licensed in Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, and Vermont.
I have been a therapist close to two decades. I was trained in CBT-I in 2021 and provide individual (and sometimes group) CBT-I for anyone located in the state of Texas. Other areas of expertise include chronic pain, maladaptive perfectionism, OCD, and PTSD.

She retired from Family medicine and now sees people with chronic insomnia for CBT-I.
