Kristen Ryder

I practiced as a School Psychologist for 13 years, then completed an MSW focused on evidence-based trauma treatments. I work part-time as a trauma therapist in our regional CAC, and part-time in private practice (I am currently practicing under supervision as an LLMSW-C). Previous to my time in public education, I worked in CMH for 13 years as a researcher, juvenile justice diversion case manager, Early On/HeadStart psychologist, and community prevention coordinator. In addition to my time in agency and private practice, I am a consultant with Spark for Change research lab at Michigan State University, and provide therapeutic yoga and mindfulness services to trauma and cancer survivors. As someone who works in the field of trauma, I witness daily how significantly sleep is impacted by their experiences and chose to train in CBT-I to expand my skills and meet their basic needs in this way.
