My interest in sleep medicine grew from training and working in medical settings with patients whose lives were shaped by chronic pain, illness, and neurological conditions. Again and again, I saw how disrupted sleep amplified suffering by worsening pain, mood, attention, and daily functioning, and how restoring sleep often became a turning point in healing.
