BSM Specialties: Circadian Rhythm Disorders

My areas of specialty include insomnia and other sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression, often with chronic pain or stress-related issues. I trained with Donn Posner, Ph.D., at Brown University's School of Medicine in an internship and subsequently in my post-doctoral training as well. I've taught psychology full time in a liberal arts setting for much of the last two decades, but recently expanded my private practice, when I left teaching last year. I'm trained in behavioral and in Cognitive-behavioral therapy for panic, phobias, GAD, OCD, and stress-related disorders, as well as mood disorders. I've worked in healthcare since 2011, beginning my career as a registered nurse in critical care. I have developed a strong foundation in complex patient management. In 2021, I completed my master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner and moved into the field of sleep medicine. It was there that I discovered my passion for helping people transform their sleep. A year into practice, I pursued specialized training in CBT-I. I have worked as a senior sleep physiologist in Mater Private Hospital and Bon Secours Hospital as well as Manager of Clinical Physiology in Mater Private. I am BRPT registered as a polysomnography technician since 2008. I completed a CPD in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for insomnia (cbt-i) within MSc in Behavioural Sleep Medicine, University of Glasgow in 2011. I am due to complete MSc in Evidence Based Future Health Care in University of Galway in 2026. I have extensive clinical knowledge of all sleep disorders. I set up The Insomnia Clinic in 2013.
