Dr. Amy Karbasi, a licensed clinical psychologist, is highly skilled at and deeply dedicated to partnering with her patients to achieve and sustain the health and mental health breakthroughs they seek. With patience and professionalism, empathy and attentiveness and often humor, she gets to know each as a whole person who is the expert on their own life story and challenges. Recognizing and nurturing the courage it takes to explore and to change, she makes sure her patients feel heard—which enables them to feel confident in working together utilizing the therapeutic approaches that will benefit them most.
Dr. Karbasi brings to Evolvinn a wealth of experience in working with adults of all ages, as well as adolescents, who are confronting chronic health conditions. She has helped her patients deal with challenges including complex, recurring pain; chronic fatigue; vascular, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions, including fibromyalgia; autoimmune disorders, including multiple sclerosis and lupus; and gastrointestinal disorders, such as IBS. She has also helped hundreds of patients meet mental health challenges including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anger, and anxiety, as well as the stresses of relationship problems and general life issues.
Dr. Karbasi draws on her training, experience, and ongoing professional development in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), and CBT for Headaches (CBT-HA); Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT); Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy for Chronic Pain (EAET); Prolonged Exposure (PE); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); Motivational Interviewing (MI); and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
